Founded in Boston in 2004 by songwriter Ben Potrykus (Bent Shapes, early The Receiving End Of Sirens, etc) with brother Sam Potrykus, Matt Sisto (Spirit Kid), Chris Mara (Babydriver), and Chris Barrett (Kingsley Flood) dreamy folk collective Christians & Lions has ranged from a solo act to a 7-piece ensemble featuring viola, trumpet, trombone, accordion, upright bass, and more. The group is known for intimate performances that find equal footing in settings as diverse as basements, clubs, and street corners. Their first album in ten years, Young Familiar, was be released in late 2019, and features performances from Erica Sutherland (littlefoot), Sara Honeywell (Gun Mother), Fiona Wood and Dan Thorn (VQnC), Chris D'Amore (Cousin Bobby), James Weinberg, Gregory Tellier, and Miriam Lee.
