Josh O is not afraid to push the artistic boundaries of the human voice. With the help of a loop station, he uses singing, beatboxing, and modulation effects to create a groovy, harmonic sound that blends elements of EDM, pop, and jazz. All of his compositions are swiftly layered in real time, without a need for pre-recorded tracks. He has been extensively involved in the competitive beatboxing community since 2020, performing and ranking high among top artists in beatboxing events across the U.S. and overseas. He has helped organize and judge various beatbox competitions and also taught students from around the world as a private live looping teacher. In 2021, Josh was selected to test the prototype for the BOSS RC-505mkII loop station and perform with it in a highly viewed video event and album as part of Swissbeatbox’s “Kickback Battle”. He recently achieved 2nd place in the submission rankings for the prestigious Grand Beatbox Battle 2023 in the “Loopstation” category, out of almost 100 entries; he is set to represent the U.S. at the event this October in Tokyo, Japan. Josh O has no plans to stop this momentum, and he continues to improve his craft and inspire others with his artistry.
