Clove are a five-piece alt-rock/punk outfit from Melbourne, Australia. Writing music which pairs emotive story telling with big guitar sounds and driving rhythm sections. The band came together in late 2016 with the release of their two track ‘Home in a Haven/Dear You’ which garnered airplay on triple J’s short.fast.loud. ‘I Saw Fire’ followed in early 2017, receiving heavy rotation on triple J Unearthed and support from community radio (4ZZZ, SYN FM). This momentum culminated in ‘Grey’, the bands first extensive release - which showed lyrical depth, sonic refinement and an extension into more creative song writing. Tracks ‘Tend’, ‘Grey’, Negatively Geared’ and ‘Waiting’ all gained varying levels of airplay over triple J and Unearthed. Beginning in November and following a capacity reaching EP launch at Melbourne’s Bar Open, Clove toured relentlessly behind Grey with a run of east coast shows as well as some impressive support slots to close out the year. Early 2018 saw no slowing down, with a west coast tour of W.A. in January and a second east coast jaunt in April. The consistent touring proved fruitful, with the band being able to share the stage with a diverse range of acts including WAAX, Endless Heights, 50 Lions, Introvert, Stuck Out, Bloods, Horror My Friend and Better Half. 2019 begins with a bang for Clove, as they release the second single Glow from their upcoming EP, Hollow and Whole.
