Биография
Emo trio Stars Hollow began in 2015 at Iowa State University as an outlet for the depression and anxiety of central songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist Tyler Stodghill. The debut EP I’m Really Not Upset About It surfaced in 2016, establishing the band’s style-- Stodghill delivering vulnerable lyrics with a sharp, jagged bellow, leavened by deeply melodic guitar work. They released the Happy Again EP in 2018 and the “Tadpole” single in 2019, both of which proved to be breakthrough releases in both songwriting and popularity. In September of 2019, the band finally buckled down to create their debut LP, which, over a year later, is finally set to be unveiled. I Want to Live My Life is a true artistic watershed for Stars Hollow in every sense. Their core sound remains unchanged, but the material is played with knuckles white from conviction and lyrics ready-made for kids to throw their fists in the air as they scream along. Stars Hollow’s stock and trade has always been Stodghill’s lyrics, delivered as they are with a throat-shredding intensity, and they are at their most achingly vulnerable yet on I Want to Live My Life. Musically, the band has also reached a peak; the trio’s performance is in perfect synchronicity, rollicking breakdowns and gentle interludes existing with little sonic space dividing them, yet flowing together with the acuity of professionals I Want to Live My Life is set to be one of the defining records of emo’s current wave. Stars Hollow are all in.
