Kludde was formed in 2001 by Snoodaert and Uglúk as a black metal studio project, strongly inspired by the second wave of black metal bands, using the concept of local folklore and named after an evil water spirit. A demo, "Langs Scheld en Denderland", was released in 2002, and a split-cd with Wanhoop, "De Verdoken Waarheid", came out in 2004. In 2006, Cerulean and Basstaerd joined the band, and a year later, the full length album "In den Vergetelheid" was released. Occupied by other projects and activities, Kludde was buried alive by the end of 2009... ...and resurrected back in 2014. Founding member Uglúk decided to leave the band in 2015. New songs were written and rewritten, and after some lineup instabilities, Cerulean took over vocal duties and Vellekläsjer joined the band on drums. In May 2019 "In de Kwelm" was released by Consouling Sounds on cd-digipak and vinyl. This album is the result of hard work and perseverance, and it is without any doubt the most straightforward and aggressive album Kludde has made so far. Snoodaert is also active in Welcome to Holyland. Cerulean is also active in Toorn.
