Trumpeter, Vocalist Gordon James is a performer , composer and recording artist . He is a graduate of the Interlochen Arts Academy and Hart College of Music and has seven albums out under his name. His 2008 release "In Joy" reached #15 on the smooth jazz charts and his music is currently being played and sold in over 50 countries. Stylistically James has been compared to Chris Botti, Chuck Mangione, Chet Baker and Miles Davis. His has performed with and opened for such artists as saxophonists Eric Kloss and Paul Winter, cellist David Darling, vocalist Bobby Caldwell, The Soul Survivors, jazz and blues great Johnny Guitar Watson, Stax recording artist Blue Aquarius, Pieces if a Dream, Roy Ayres, Angela Bofill, Chuck Loeb and Bob Baldwin. James' music blends the worlds of jazz, R&B, Latin, and Pop . His music is both funky and lyrical and the Trumpet and Flugelhorn are perfect for conveying the passion of his compositions., James will be releasing a new album the summer called Smooth Sunshine.
