Биография
With millions of views and thousands of subscribers and fans, Rabby Slo is an Afro-Tchink pioneer. Wildly successful in Benin, Slo has brought his new blend of traditional music and modern technology along with compelling lyrics to his new home in the U.S. Now Slo is ready to release his much-anticipated new album. Slo grew up in Benin, West Africa the fourth of 10 children. The singer/songwriter had a rough start in life. His father, a baker, provided what he could for the family but Slo grew up without the comforts and pleasantries of life; eating just once a day and walking 20 miles to and from school every day without shoes in the blistering sun. While he grew up without many material possessions, his memories of childhood aren’t on the negative aspects, but on the pleasant memories such as stringing 30 small batteries altogether in order to turn on his small A.M. radio. That small luxury gave him a window to a world of African and international music. It was a world he dreamed of being a part of and a dream that would eventually be taking him halfway around the globe. Now settled in the U.S, Rabby Slo is back making music that blends the sounds of Benin’s Tchin-koun-Min (pronounced chin-coun-min), a traditional form of music played using water percussion, which blends his new life with the musical traditions native to Benin. The popular traditional sound was adapted into the tchink-system music by Tohon Stan and has now been upgrading by Slo
