Биография
b. 18 November 1948, New York City, New York, USA. Marcovicci’s professional career began in the 60s when she worked as a folk singer, but focused chiefly on acting. She worked in television (including Love Is A Many Splendored Thing), the theatre (her Broadway debut was in 1972’s The Ambassador, plus a number of off-Broadway productions and also with the American Conservatory Theater), and in movies (including 1976’s The Front, for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award, 1981’s The Hand, 1985’s The Stuff, and 1993’s Jack The Bear). From the mid-80s Marcovicci has been active as a singer. She has worked in cabaret settings and also appeared at larger venues, often with symphony orchestras, working in San Francisco, New York and elsewhere, including her 1993 Carnegie Hall debut as a soloist with the American Symphony Orchestra. Her London, England cabaret appearances include the Pizza On The Park in 1994 and again in 1997. In the mid- to late 90s she appeared at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall, for her one-woman show, and in the debut of Enid Futterman and Michael Cohen’s song cycle, I Am Anne Frank. Marcovicci made her Australian debut at the 1998 Melbourne Arts Festival. Throughout the 90s, she appeared regularly in cabaret at New York’s Algonquin Hotel. In the early 00s, she continued to perform in cabaret and concert throughout the USA. Among new works were a collaboration with the Carolina Ballet and a Lincoln Center commission, Kurt Weill In America. A commanding stage presence and vibrant personality have helped make Marcovicci a popular entertainer.
