Anawak started in 1998 with its Mexican founder Ana Cihuacoatl as soloist singer in different types of ceremonies around Mexico: Oaxaca with the Mazatecos, Wixarika sacred spots in North Mexico, Central Mexico with Aztec tradition, Teotihuacan in "Dance of the Moon" and Lakota's Sundance, Zipolite International Beach, Oaxaca for 15 years in a row. It is from 2003, when Ana Cihuacoatl started to perform the ceremonial singings and dances in the stage and she founded ANAWAK. International Activities from 2004: Live radio performance and 3 concerts in the XVIII Festival International de Musique Universitaire in Belfort, France. “Café Babel” and in the “Centre Pompidou” esplanade of Paris, France. Ana Cihuacoatl carried out, with a singing and fire guide, the ceremony of the summer solstice in the “Debod Egyptian Temple” in Madrid, Spain, and she also performed as guest singer in the Tetraktis Percusion Project in Mexico City 2006 Release of Anawak first album “Cuatro Águilas” in National Anthropology Museum in Mexico City. 2012 Release of its second album “Primer Sol” in Ancestral Awakening Tour with Ac Tah (Mayan Walker). Tribal Vision Festival in Taos New Mexico and Owl Tribe Tour with female rapper Kellee Maize. 2013 -2017 Ceremonies & events every summer or autumn in U.S.A. 2018 - Third album release Caminando a Wirikuta in a musical fusion with Niwetzika (Wixarika Ensemble) produced by A. Colavita, contemporary musician.
