Биография
Sorry Records is happy to present the long-anticipated new EP from Miami Bass duo Basside produced by SOPHIE out this April. Basside are childhood BFFs Que Linda and Caro Loka who have been local Miami legends for a minute now, blasting booty-rattling bass for the masses since their inception and sharing stages with Miami Bass icons like L’Trimm and 2 Live Crew. After seeing the duo perform at Miami’s iii Points Festival in 2016, SOPHIE invited them to her studio in LA and the three quickly made the six tracks that comprise the Fuck It Up EP. Despite not seeing a proper release until 2021, these tracks have long been fan favorites; carefully cultivated through wildly coveted live bootlegs and mix rips from sets from PC Music founder A. G. Cook, Charli XCX, Jimmy Edgar, and Machinedrum. SOPHIE herself played the tracks in DJ sets everywhere from Primavera Sound to Miami’s Ultra Music Festival. In the wake of SOPHIE’s passing, Basside and Sorry Records have decided to finally share these tracks; starting with “NYC2MIA (SOPHIE Remix)” — a long time staple of the producer's DJ sets that was shared via Bandcamp last month with all proceeds going to Sylvia Rivera Law Project who works to guarantee that all people are free to self-determine their gender identity and expression, regardless of income or race, and without facing harassment, discrimination, or violence.
