Based out of Aotearoa New Zealand, Israel is a multi Platinum & Gold artist & producer. Israel is also a recipient of the ‘Best Roots Artist’ at the NZ Music Awards and 2x Winner of Best Reggae Album at the National Indiginous Maori Music Awards. ‘Israel’ (his given middle name)… and ‘Starr’ (short for Rasta) credits his musical talents to his upbringing in the ‘Twelve Tribes of Israel’ Rasta community. Growing up Twelve Tribes meant that he had the opportunity to learn from the best reggae talents in NZ, including Che Fu, Chong Nee, Herbs and his father the legendary Mighty Asterix. Israel is a child of roots and soundsystem culture which shows in his authentic and wide ranging production and musical offerings!
