Holland debuted in 2018 as the first Korean singer to begin his career while openly addressing his sexuality. Holland has quickly caught the attention of K-pop fans around the world, gaining a loyal following on social media. His fans, affectionately coined, “Harlings” is a play on the words Holland and angels. “Neverland,” his debut single, depicts a same-sex romance between two men, and upon its release, threw Korea, a socially-conservative country where homosexuality is rarely addressed in pop culture, into a frenzy. The music video garnered significant international attention, racking up over 12 million views on YouTube since its release. Recognized for his social influence, this revolutionary singer has been featured in media such as Billboard, Forbes, Cosmopolitan, and was selected as the winner of the 2018 Dazed 100.
