Биография

KUČKA is the solo project of electronic producer and songwriter, Laura Jane Lowther. Ten years after her first release in 2012 – an entirely self-produced, eponymous EP – Lowther has firmly established herself as a standout producer and vocalist; she has worked alongside a number of high-profile collaborators, producing and singing on tracks with artists as diverse as Flume, A$AP Rocky, Vince Staples, SOPHIE, Fetty Wap and Kendrick Lamar. KUČKA released her second EP, Unconditional, in 2015, expanding her sound with more intricate compositions and intimate songwriting. Her seminal debut album, Wrestling, arrived in 2021 via LuckyMe/Soothsayer, to widespread acclaim touting KUČKA as “unlike anything else coming out of Australia right now” (Red Bull Music). Lowther’s earnest depiction of her experiences across love and growth throughout the album, a product of her life as a global citizen (UK to AUS to USA) and queer identity, infuse her work with intimacy and “digital soul” (FACT Magazine). 2022 has seen further growth for KUČKA with singles ‘Messed up’ and ‘Not there’ seeing continued, international praise. These singles follow her recent string of live performances including supporting Flume at Coachella and across the US and UK where they performed their collaboration, 'ESCAPE'. In June of this year, she debuted an AV experience with Bootleg Comics at the Sydney Opera House for Vivid Live. KUČKA’s latest collaboration, with Mount Kimbie 'f1 racer' was released in 2022.
