Mermaid in China are a psychedelic indie pop project based in Portland, OR. The group originally formed as a studio recording collaboration between Ryan Every and Adam Corkery in 2008. Tackling all instrumentation roles, the duo began to compose and produce songs together, and in 2010 Christopher Stasney joined their emerging musical universe. Diving deep into the exploration of diverse soundscapes, the band pulls influences from the retro vibes of outfits like The Beach Boys and Depeche Mode to the modern sounds of MGMT and Mild High Club.
