Hg Locks grew up in the Bronx, New York, where he was born and raised. He found his passion for hip hop while still in high school. He began pursuing his career as a Hip Hop artist as a freshman student in college, and his major objective has been to make music that everyone can appreciate. Most rappers, he believes, feel compelled to follow the trend, but he prefers to just connect with his audience. He strives to develop a genuine community. He doesn't care if he has just ten, or a hundred million supporters. It's not about the money, he adds, but about the connection. How can it be organic if there is no connection?
