CHIPPY NONSTOP got her name for a reason. She is an audacious, all caps, undeniable party starter. Chippy is a DJ, singer, rapper, writer, producer, organizer of community events. Since co-founding ‘INTERSESSIONS’ in 2017, a DJ workshop for women, femme, non-binary, and queer people, the program has taken off with new chapters sprouting up all over North America. The goals are simple; teaching future innovators how to hone their skills while being self-reliant in a male-centric industry. Labelled as ‘one to watch’, people are now paying attention to her’. Never shy to create drama through her outspoken online persona, she’s amassed over 70k fans and followers, and been featured in Vogue, Gawker, Fader, Vice and Boiler Room to name just a few. Born Chhavi Nanda in Dubai, she has been globally influenced, for in addition to being of Indian descent she grew up in Zambia before living in the US for most of her life. After being very publicly deported, and banned for 10 years, she’s become a Canadian citizen who now calls Toronto home. And she’s making some noise. Chippy Nonstop is heralded by DJ Mag as a “pivotal DJ and producer whose influence has shaped the world of electronic music, both in their local scenes and beyond”. After a brief hiatus focusing on DJing and her workshops, Chippy is making her much anticipated return with her debut LP and collaboration, “CHIPPY NONSTOP x DJ GENDERFLUID” out May 2021.
