Todd K. Moultrie, founder of jazzgroupiez spent the early 2000’s as an urban/hip hop producer with credited production for artists such as Master P, Mr. Collipark and one album on the Sanctuary Urban imprint began by Matthew Knowles. After abruptly selling all production equipment and walking away from the music industry he then spent 7 years away from music reconnecting solely as a fan. 
 During this time and through life changing events he most importantly with reconnected jazz, the music introduced to him as a child by his father who had recently passed away. In 2013 Moultrie founded jazzgroupiez after seeing his first Robert Glasper concert. Jazzgroupiez began simply as an urban culture website where he traveled the US attending jazz shows, publishing interviews and promoting the culture and shared his experiences on jazzgroupiez.com. 
 In 2017, while attending a jazz performance in Houston the production urge led him to buy a drum machine & start experimenting with his version of jazz, soul & hip hop fused. This led to the 1st jazzgroupiez EP millinaissance. His unorthodox millennium production method begins with him building the foundation (drum programming, a harmony track or a sample) then using a network of musicians around the globe, some via Fiverr.com, he layers the tracks with pianist, bassist, saxophonist etc all from different corners of the country for a virtual band experience.
