The music of Tragedy Machine derives from that obscure place in your subconscious where truth intersects with projection and a dark, yet peaceful reality emerges. Both Kyle and Ian are also professional Firefighters/Paramedics for major cities. The lyrical content and general overtone for the songs can be deciphered from their experiences in emergency situations as well as their escape from the constant reminder of human fragility.
