Биография
Tristan Arp is a multimedia artist and producer born in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan, and based in Mexico City. He moved to New York City to study in 2008, where he later formed the label Human Pitch in collaboration with Simisea, before moving to Mexico City in 2019. His music playfully blends the framework of dance and ambient music with adventurous sound design, asymmetrical rhythms, and pointillistic micro-percussion. In 2020 the he released the 12" Slip (Banofee Pies) following Suggested Forms (Human Pitch), a compilation of his first EPs with remixes from Dominican dembow producer Kelman Duran, and techno experimentalists Beta Librae and Machine Woman. His 2021 EPs Oddkin (Human Pitch) and Alternate Looking Glass (Eternal Ocean) were his first releases to incorporate his own paintings. Tristan Arp’s debut solo album Sculpturegardening will be released on October 22nd on the UK label Wisdom Teeth, run by Facta and K-Lone. Performing cello alongside modular synthesis on the album, Tristan Arp embraces generative music inspired by gardening and acoustic textures inspired by sculpture. Tristan Arp is also a member of Asa Tone, a collaboration with Indonesian-American artist Melati Malay and Australian producer Kaazi. The group’s debut LP Temporary Music was recorded in Indonesia and released on Leaving Records in 2020. He can be heard biweekly on The Lot Radio with his partner in Human Pitch, Simisea, and guests from around the world.
