Have you ever listened or watched somebody and within the first few seconds thought to yourself: ‘man, there’s nobody like this person in the whole world’? Well... ladies and gentlemen, meet FAMOUS. Let’s start with a bang: In his first year as a rapper, FAMOUS was nominated for a Juno Award (Canadian Grammy’s) and Much Music Video Award for his debut EP, ‘I Rap Now’. Take that in. The project, a very well-crafted, short play album, with contributions from Grammy Award winning producer Boi-1da (Lil Wayne/Nicki Minaj/Jonas Brothers) and Tone Mason (Jay-Z & Drake), spawned 5 songs, 4 videos, 3 radio hits, 2 major nominations, an MTV Live performance, a cross country tour with Nas, The Clipse and Method Man and 1 ‘Best New Artist’ award south of the border from 93.7 WBLK. From the intern at Universal Music (Def Jam) and later Sony BMG, FAMOUS moved in to the spotlight in 2008 becoming Canada’s #1 Club Emcee & Radio personality to Toronto’s #1 rated Hip Hop show in it’s timeslot, OTA Live. After touring, headlining and performing internationally at Conferences & Festivals around the world, including Canada (Canadian Music Week), USA (Core DJ’s & Brooklyn Bodega), Europe (NewSkoolRules, MIDEM), India (India Music Conference), Asia (Music Matters, MUCON) as well as hosting parties for Drake, Lebron James & Jay-Z in Cannes, to more recently appearing at the Golden Melody Awards (Taiwan) alongside Jolin Tsai & JJ Lin, the Canadian born Top 100 DJs MC has become, well...FAMOUS.
