Биография
Glyn "Bigga" Bush is a musician, DJ and producer based in Dorset, originally half of Rockers Hi Fi, now making music as the Magic Drum Orchestra and Biggabush on Tru Thoughts Records. His influences range from reggae, dub and funk to library music and soundtracks, as well as electronic music, Bollywood, Latin and jazz. In 1996 Glyn moved from Birmingham to Dorset and by 1999 was making music under the name Lightning Head for Sonar Kollektiv. Meanwhile, he was remixing artists such as Earl Zinger, Ennio Morricone, Mark Rae, Tosca, Boozoo Bajou, Benjamin Zephaniah, Up Bustle & Out, Sidestepper and DJ Fitchie/Joe Dukie (Fat Freddy’s Drop). During this time, he played with various samba bands which eventually led to the formation of the Magic Drum Orchestra, a 25-piece percussion group that ran from 2005-2015, signing with Tru Thoughts in 2014. A seminal moment was a collaboration with Tony Allen in 2001 which set him on a course deep into afrobeat, which culminated in his 2008 album '13 Faces of Lightning Head', now reissued on Tru Thoughts. He has recently done remixes for Animanz, Hot 8 Brass Band, Sefi Zisling, Coldcut, Blood Wine or Honey, Radioactiveman and Rabii Harnoune & V.B. Kühl. He now hosts a monthly show on Brighton-based station 1Btn.fm called Bigga’s Big Dig which gives him free rein to explore the depths of his record collection as well as showcasing fresh sounds from across the musical spectrum.
