EVÎN is a Berlin based singer and producer and one of the most exciting new voices in R&B. Her music blends elements from different genres with her Kurdish roots giving her a distinctive sound within the European scene. Aiming for a unique sound and extraordinary visuals Evîn is inspired by artists such as James Blake, FKA Twigs, Rosalía, Jorja Smith and Sufjan Stevens. In April 2022 Evîn released her self-entitled Debut EP of which several singles (“Undefined”, “Blessed”, “Snow”) have been featured in blogs and magazines such as Notion, C-Heads, Wonderland and Colors*Studios. After an intensive time of studying Jazz Vocals and dwelling into her roots Evîn started to produce her own songs since 2020. Her artist identity connects emotions and experiences with socio-political topics such as refuge, memory culture and belonging. For someone who grew up in between cultures Evîn sees it as empowering to convey these messages throughout her songs. On her second EP “It wasn’t even for you” (November 2022) Evîn shows that she’s not only a singer but also a producer that seeks out to find her own sound within an oversaturated music scene. Next to haptic sounding drums and percussions, stretched and downsized samples and viby synths Evîn uses traditional Middle Eastern and acoustic elements connecting both western and eastern culture. In this detail painted picture Evîn’s warm-hearted and personal kind is revealed through her voice singing about loss, regeneration and healing.
