Her debut album, Return, saw her go from being a Bristolian newcomer to a critically-acclaimed breakthrough star. Selling out shows up and down the UK, she is praised for the arresting quality of her Kate Bush-meets-Dolly Parton vocal delivery. Written and recorded in late 2021, Katy’s latest effort Sound Of The Morning is co-produced by Ali Chant (Yard Act and the helm of Katy’s debut Return) and Speedy Wunderground head-honcho Dan Carey (Fontaines DC) and strives for the bittersweetness of music and takes classic, timeless ideas and spins them into new forms. This new effort sees Katy push herself into new water, musically and lyrically, to create a record that is increasingly unafraid to explore the darker side of life with an openness that is full of light.
