Биография
Self-proclaimed terminally-online New Yorker Kinoteki crafts music that touches on hauntological introspection and explores the realm of extreme sonic immersion. Despite being fueled by internet brainrot, Kinoteki has been recognized by many for their highly eclectic and deeply emotive sound. Their sonic inspirations vary highly - ranging from more dance influenced artists like Machinedrum and Lone, to more deep, introspective artists like Oneohtrix Point Never, and Burial. Originally starting their career in 2013 under the moniker Phonebox, by 2017 they started developing their sound further, introducing many analog tendencies along the way with a few rare, unreleased tracks that haven't seen the light of day since. Later on, they would have their pivotal EP "Some Mediocre Songs" (released under Phonebox) dubbed on tape via Boston-based label No Agreements in late 2020, marking a major shift in sound. They would then go on to sign to their current home for releases, the San Francisco-based record company Tabula Rasa Records, in late 2020 as well, releasing albums "Artifice", "Human Noise" and "Silence Kills" (in collaboration with labelmate Kelbin), all releases being rooted in deep nocturnal atmospheres and post-rave internet culture. Their next album Dawn of the Final Hour would go on to be their breakout record, receiving overwhelmingly positive reception for its atmospheric take on footwork, odd vocal choices and poignant array of catchy melodies.
