In September 2022, the Newcastle-based songsmith will return with two live releases featuring tracks from his recent EP. Recorded and filmed live in a single take, these reimagined solo versions of Friend & Foe and Backward Steps see Mat strip away the textured accompaniments that we heard on the full release. Left behind are the songs in their rawest and most endearing forms, rich with colourful harmony, heartfelt sentiment, and soothing baritone. This release will be closely followed by perhaps Mat's most enchanting release to date - Just The Family Inside. With intricacy akin to Fleet Foxes and bursting with charm comparable to Bright Eyes' First Day Of My Life, Just The Family Inside provides yet further proof that Mat has become a writer comparable to few others.
