Azamat Zenkayev, the leader of the band, was born in 1993, September 28, in the west of Kazakhstan, Balykshy region. As AZ recalls, the fishermen region was considered to be one of the most dangerous areas of the city of Atyrau. Fights in dark lanes, earphones, baggy jeans, unusual choice of music, all these accompanied the aggressive way of life of the future rapper. AZ didn't study at a musical institution, as the other members of the band. He adheres to the principles in writing the texts to the songs acquired by his own life experiences. The leader sets big tasks for himself and works really hard on them to reach his goals. That's the best way of learning he reckons, learning by doing. AZ has been fond of rap since 2004 and grew up on Eminem's and 50 cent's music. Currently he is listening to Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West and the Weeknd. Although he respects the local singers, he doesn't really listen to them. He believes that everyone has a right for self-expression. Azamat writes for pleasure and truly believes there will be plenty of admirers of his art. In 2014 after winning on K-TOP Idols reality show with his future colleague Z.A.Q., they become very first members of NINETY ONE.
