Singer/songwriter Miran Zrimsek started the music project Moving Houses in 2011 during his cello studies at the University of Arts in Bremen, Germany. Joined by a couple of fellow alumni, the band released 3 EPs between 2012 and 2016. After a 6-year hiatus and after rediscovering beauty in a more intimate sound and stripped-down instrumentation, Moving Houses is back as a one-man project. The latest single ‚Paperbag‘ is a reminder to a troubled self that eventually everything is going to be ok. It’s about sitting through a human experience or doing whatever helps to get through a dark day (going for a walk, talking to a friend, meditating, making music…). It’s also about being present in all the life’s moments, good or bad. It was recorded in the home studio of Miran’s friend and collaborator Pablo Ortega. The idea was to use the piano to its maximum, either in its natural or altered form. Layering and sound alteration of the instrument through effects contributed to the ethereal feeling of the song. A bass-drum and a cymbal swell halfway through were added to give the song more vibrancy. The song was released on 11/11/22.
