Ana Paula da Silva is a Brazilian composer, interpreter and producer of her work and other cultural projects. During her 27 year career, she has released and produced seven albums, a songbook, the recent DVD Canto da Cigarra and performs shows and tours in Brazil and abroad. She has won prizes such as Caixa Cultural, Pixinguinha Prize, and the Cultural Highlights of the Year Award as the Catarina artist who most performed outside Brazil (2013). She was the recipient of the Best Singer Prize in 2015. In the same year, Ana Paula released her sixth album entitled Raiz Forte ("Strong Roots"), which was nominated for the Santa Catarina Music Prize and received critical acclaim. In January 2017 Raiz Forte was considered one of the 10 best albums released in 2016 by music critic Juarez Fonseca and is on the list of the 100 Best Albums Released in Brazil. The Strong Roots Show was part of the SESC/Santa Catarlna (SC) Circuit and toured 24 SC cities from June to October, 2017. Ana Paula da Silva received the Grão de Música (SP) Prize as the best artist and will also participate in the compilation with her song Pé de Crioula in partnership with Sergio Almeida in São Paulo. On July 19, 2017 Ana Paula received the Best Singer/Regional Award with her album Raiz Forte at the Brazilian Music Award/Ney Matogrosso in Rio de Janeiro.
