Биография

Born in Madrid in 1971. Composer and pianist, is considered by critics as one of the most significant Spanish composers of his generation. He studied composition with Antón García Abril at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid. His catalog has a wide catalog of works for solo, chamber, vocal, concert, orchestral and electroacoustic music, as well as music for films, theater and dance. He has been awarded several prizes, among which the National Music Prize "Cultura Viva" stands out for his contribution as a composer, researcher and pedagogue. His music has been premiered by prestigious soloists, chamber groups and orchestras, and has received commissions from different institutions, highlighting the composition of the work required for the 56th International Piano Competition "Premio Jaén". In 2016 the International Piano Competition "Composers of Spain" dedicated its XVII Edition to him. His compositions have been performed in many countries, and are published in several CD's. He is a PhD in Philosophy with a thesis entitled "Musivisual Analysis, an approach to the study of film music". At present, he combines his artistic activity with his teaching and research as a teacher of "Composition for Audiovisual Media" at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid, as well as at the Alfonso X el Sabio University. He is the author of several books, among them "The Musivisual Language, semiotics and aesthetics of the cinematographic music".
