Maltworm was founded in Sofia, Bulgaria in late 2018 by members of Hellrider, Ciroza, Bleak Revelation, Charda and Church of Destiny. The concept was to play Swedish-style Death Metal - with Thrash Metal riffing and a twist of melody, and they still stay true to it to this day. The band quickly gathered notoriety and a fanbase through their intense live shows and what once started as a side project "for fun" culminated in their well-accepted first single Yersinia Pestis (2019). Immediately after Maltworm started recording their debut album, however the release was put on hold due to the ongoing pandemic and the inability to bring it to the stage the way it deserved. Fortunately, the wait has come to an end and the long acclaimed album 'Global Worming' (2022) is now upon us! 40 minutes of Thrash/Death metal frenzy with quite a few unexpected surprises in between. Visualized by the stunning art of Julian D’Bones (who’s worked with Exciter, Virgin Steele and many more) “Global Worming” will satisfy your hunger - especially if what you are craving for is “no-bullshit” (but not boring) extreme metal.
