Yung L, aka Yaadman, is a Nigerian-Canadian singer, songwriter, and producer known for his genre-blending music that fuses Dancehall, Reggae, Afrobeats, Pop, and UK Garage, making him a prolific African artist. He began his musical journey by singing, rapping, and performing, later joining the music group Mac9. There, he honed his style, drawing influence from artists like Damian Marley and Jay-Z. Studying at the University of Jos Medical School, Yung L connected with fellow aspiring musicians like Ice Prince, Endia, J.Milla, and Chopstix. They formed the GRIP movement, with Yung L as president of the Grip Music label. Inspired by iconic musical collectives like WuTang Clan, they relocated to Lagos in 2011, and are one of the pioneers of the new Afrobeats sound. Yung L's career highlights include notable singles like "Pass The Aux" and "SOS," earning an MTV Music Video of the Year Award nomination. His collaboration with Major Lazer on the remix of "Run Up" in 2017, featuring Nicki Minaj and PartyNextDoor, brought international recognition. His impressive discography features albums like 'Better Late Than Never' (2017) and 'Yaadman Kingsize' (2021), alongside EPs such as "Jollification" (2019) and "Juice & Zimm" (2020). Notably, his international hit single is the remix of "Eve Bounce" featuring Wizkid.
