The Dutch band After Elmer is making poppunk as how it was once intended: fast riffs, smart lyrics and the volume knob turned to eleven. With bands as All Time Low and Yellowcard in the back of their minds, the Rotterdam based poppunks are putting oldskool punk in a new jacket. It may be clear that poppunk is making a worldwide comeback and After Elmer is at the forefront helping out. After Elmer has been around since 2018. It’s been founded by brothers Jaap (bass, vocals), Pieter (lead guitar) and Thomas (drums). After a year of playing some gigs as a three piece band and releaseing their first singles ‘’Locked Door’’ and ‘’Sorry For The Revolution’’, the band decided to look for a fourth member to add more power to the sound. That fourth member was rhythm guitarist Jasper Vellekoop, who fitted right in and lifted the sound to a higher level. In 2020 the band released their very first EP: Look Alive. In January 2022 the band went into the studio with producer Stijn Donders to record new music. In June 2022 the band released their new single "Flip a Coin (Overthinking)'' and in August they released their hometown anthem: ''Skyline'' which comes with a rooftop music video. In this video their hometown Rotterdam serves as a backdrop. The band topped 2022 off by releasing their (semi-)acoustic single ''When We Break''. They started off 2023 with the release of their new single ''246 Toothpicks''. All four songs got music video's. Make sure to watch them!
