Биография

Glendora, California surf group the Surfaris are remembered for "Wipe Out," the number two 1963 hit that ranks as one of the great rock instrumentals, featuring a classic up-and-down guitar riff created by “The Godfather of Surf Guitar, Jim Fuller and a classic solo drum roll break by Wilson, both of which were emulated by millions (the number is no exaggeration) of beginning rock & rollers. The band recorded an astonishing number of albums and singles in the mid-'60s; the "Wipe Out" follow-up, "Point Panic," was the only one to struggle up to the middle of the charts. More talented than the typical one-shot surf group, the Surfaris' drummer Ron Wilson was praised by session stickman extraordinaire Hal Blaine, and his uninhibited splashing style sounds like a direct ancestor to Keith Moon. He also took the lead vocals on the group's occasional The Beach Boys imitations. ~ Richie Unterberger, Rovi Jim Fuller’s Surfaris 61’ - 66’ then reunited 81’ - 2017 {temp. hiatus }after Fuller passed. - Berryhill 61’- 66’ then 81’ - 83’ then in (late 2000 - current) Bob started a new band with his wife and 2 sons, also naming it Surfaris Featuring Bob Berryhill.
