Melodie MC is the stage name of Swedish rapper Kent Lövgren. He is best known for his hit single "Dum Da Dum," which was released in 1993 and became a major hit in Europe, and his native country Sweden. The song reached the top 5 in several countries and helped to launch Melodie MC's career as a rapper and dance music artist on the international scene. Melodie MC released several other singles and albums throughout the 90s, including "Feel your body moving", "Take Me Away.", "Free“, "I wanna Dance”, "Anyone Out There," "Give It Up," "Climb Any Mountain", "Real Man" and Embrance The Power"." He also collaborated with other artists and producers, including, Rowan Heat (Urban Cookie Collective), Yvonne Shelton (Loveland). and Jocelyn Brown (Chic, Incognito etc), Douglas Carr (From the famous Swedish Chairon Studio), and Pierre Jerksten (Hertz). Even the now late superproducer Dennis Pop did a remix of his song "Give it up". Melodie MC's music is often described as a fusion of hip hop and dance with catchy melodies, upbeat rhythms, and smooth and melodic flow. He has been described as a pioneer of dance music and has been credited with helping to popularize the genre in Europe and beyond.
