Биография
Las Abejas are a Post-Punk band from Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. They have been a band for more than 10 years starting under the name "The Bee’s Knees". The trio at that time made their first album "No Pun Intended" where they could show their influences from the garage rock that was playing at that time and from Post-Punk bands like Sonic Youth. After their singer moved to Miami for his studies, they made their second album called “Lazy Views” during his visits to the island . In it they leave the garage influences and go to a more introspective post-punk and with more complexity in the lyrics and music, seen in songs like "Runnin’ n Drivin ’" and "Detachment". Then eager to be able to integrate more guitars into their music when they finished recording the third album with this idea in mind, Kevin Garcia enters as a bassist for the band. On this self-titled album, the members maturing process and fuller compositions continues, integrating saxophones, 12-string acoustic guitars and even the longest song from their catalog "Boo". After 3 years of the formation of that third album comes now "Voz Callada" the first album completely in Spanish of the group and the first album including the participation of Kevin as bassist. In it they come with new influences musically and lyrically from "La Movida Madrileña" in Spain ("Egoplasma"), the Post-Punk of Wire and Gang of Four ("Casa en Llamas"), and influences from the new wave of alternative rock from Argentina (“Voz Callada”).
