Биография
Berlin-based DJ producer Daniel Fisher (aka Physical Therapy) genres hops all over the place, tying together his productions with left-field sensibilities and emotive melodies. Although he originally made a name for himself by uploading bootleg R&B edits, Fisher quickly turned his attention toward club-oriented sounds. His debut EP, 2012's Safety Net, touches on house, disco, techno, and jungle. Later releases are more thematically consistent, yet they still vary wildly from each other, such as the techno-centric Hit the Breaks in 2015 or the lo-fi house-leaning More Sugar in 2017. Born in New Jersey, Fisher grew up on a diet of alternative and rock music. It wasn't until he moved to Chicago in 2009 that he caught the bug for electronic music, originally turning his hand to bootleg R&B edits. He was eventually noticed by Shayne Oliver, who asked him to fill a residency at GHE20 G0TH1K, and he moved back to New York as a result. Once the party was at its peak in 2012, Fisher stepped aside to focus on production and the release of his debut EP. Once he had found his sound on the outskirts of house and techno he established his own label, Allergy Season, and christened it with the release of Non-Drowsy in 2013. In the summer of the same year, he visited Berlin, deciding to stay there after witnessing the nightlife. After finding his footing in Europe, he embarked on an incredibly busy 2015, including two mainline releases in Hit the Breaks and Waiting Room in DJ Hell, the latter of which was put together in collaboration with artists Gobby and Jefferey Joyal for an installation at the Perez Art Museum in Miami. He also released a full-length album under the double alias of Kirk the Flirt and Peter Pressure on 1080p, as well as the debut release as Fatherhood in collaboration with Michael Magnan. The next three years saw a selection of further EPs, including 2016's Baktadust on Work Them Records, 2017's More Sugar on Sounds of Beaubien Ouest, and 2018's Buttercup on Renascence. ~ Liam Martin, Rovi
