Marottes [said like: mah-rotes] is a colorblind ghost and the audiovisual project from Cleveland, OH born TV producer and video director, Mike Mytnick. Marottes is both a concept and a character. In October 2022, Marottes released their debut EP titled 'Languish' which was recorded during lockdown in bedrooms in NYC and Cleveland. The record’s spooky and dreamy audiovisuals take a surrealist approach to navigating the strange malaise our collective mental health has gone under since 2020. Following 'Languish', The Darkest Summer - Marottes Remix was released with UK's Minute Taker. In addition to various shows around the US, Marottes has released remixes with artists such as: City Rain (Philadelphia), Mordaga (Asheville), Sacred Canopy (Cleveland), Wander (Cleveland), Corsaire (NYC), Felix III (NYC), and more. ——— Obscure Sound: Moments of the production remind fondly of Burial’s nocturnal allure, particularly in the whisper-y vocal effects, and the escalating synth theatrics of Oneohtrix Point Never.
