Биография
Not much is guaranteed in life, but one thing is certain - every one of us will encounter circumstances that bring us to our knees. How we react in these situations will define us, moving forward into the next phase of our existence. Memorydrip’s debut self-titled EP is a meditation on this idea, an exercise in acceptance and an affirmation of hope. The group started as a momentary spark in the darkest depths of the covid-19 lockdown, when vocalist David Marion (Fear Before the March of Flames) reached out to guitarist Marshall Gallagher (Teenage Wrist) over social media. Mutual admiration led to some experimentation, and shortly thereafter they recruited drummer Justin Forrest (Caspian, SOM) to complete their self-produced collection of songs. The result was a vulnerable yet expertly crafted record that combines each member’s dynamic post-hardcore sensibilities. Woven into an ominous, sometimes jarring arrangement, is a message of positivity. Marion’s lyrical content is delivered with a zen-like confidence and wisdom, derived from triumph over hardship and resulting self actualization. For the members, the beginning of Memorydrip signals a new era; a testament to the fact that life does indeed get better.
