Биография
You might not guess it from the name, but Amy Meredith is an energetic pop/rock band featuring five young men from Sutherland Shire in Sydney, Australia. Amy Meredith was formed in 2006 by lead singer, principle songwriter, and sometimes keyboard man Christian Lo Russo; eager to form a band, he met three like-minded local musicians, Joel Chapman (guitar), Cam Laing (guitar), and Wade Osborn (bass), and they decided to join forces. After recruiting a drummer, Kosta Theodosis, they chose the name Amy Meredith and began writing songs, and once the group had recorded demos of a few tunes and played a small handful of shows, they began fielding offers from several major record labels. After playing some showcase gigs in the United States, Amy Meredith struck a deal with a Japanese label, but soon severed ties with them in favor of self-releasing an EP in 2008 and honing their strengths as musicians and songwriters. The band toured with the likes of Silversun Pickups, the Bravery, and !!!, and eventually landed a record deal with Sony Australia. In 2010, Amy Meredith's debut album, Restless, was released, and on the strength of singles like "Lying" and "Pornstar" and touring with Stereophonics and Cobra Starship, the album became a commercial success, rising to the Top Ten of the Australian charts, and earning enthusiastic reviews from critics. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
