Barrow was founded in 2012 by guitarist and singer Mikkel Bøggild, bass player Henrik Poulsen, pedal steel guitar player Ole Albrechtsen and drummer Eddi Jarl. With a vision to create an honest, underproduced album, they cut the debut "Transition" (2013) using only analog gear from recording to mastering. The debut earned the band a Danish Music Award nomination and national radio airplay for the songs "When the Day Is Done", "The King Returns" and "Slowly, Slowly". 2015 saw the release of their biggest single so far, Julia Wants to Take Me Home - and later their second album, "Like a Home" (2016). Another Danish Music Award nomination and appearance at SPOT Festival followed the album, that was cut mostly live with a folk string trio. The single "Superheroes" (2019) marked a path towards a slightly more original sound, and the same year, the band grew to a quintet, adding guitar player Mads Fogt. It allowed the band to think bigger, and towards a more produced sound, but without compromising their will to cut most of their music live in the studio.2022 will see the release of ther third studio album, "Crowded Room".
