Artist Story: Lisa Marie Barnes, a captivating blues artist from New York, stepped into the music world as a young girl, playing bass and upright bass with an accomplished jazz trio. This invaluable experience, alongside jazz giants Larry Meyer, a virtuoso guitarist and student of the legendary Lenny Tristano, and Joe Ascione, who transitioned from Buddy Rich's roadie to the drummer for Dr. John, provided Lisa an early immersion into the jazz world and the dynamics of live performances. Upon mastering the rhythms of jazz, Lisa decided to explore new musical territories. She moved on to rock, playing bass and recording three albums with a band named Valhalla. Her journey in the rock genre continued as she subsequently joined another rock band called "Lub". However, Lisa's musical evolution didn't stop there. While attending Berklee College of Music, she transitioned to guitar and began crafting her own original songs. These compositions beautifully blend the soulful depth of blues, the intricate play of her guitar, and her uniquely sensual vocals, thereby offering a fresh perspective on the blues genre. Currently, Lisa is hard at work on her debut solo album, which is anticipated to release in the summer/fall of 2023. She's also creating a music video for her recently released single, "Elusive Magic", enhancing the engagement of her captivating sound with a visual narrative
