“Soliloquy”; passage in drama where the character expresses one’s thoughts or feelings aloud while alone… The Singer/Songwriter LaJon incorporates this theatrical approach in his forthcoming EP “Soliloquy” as he delivers vivid storytelling through lyrics about reflecting on long lost love, missing home, running away and braving the wilderness, and the stigma associated with being a “Wanderer”. LaJon’s church up-bringing and gospel roots can be heard vocally over the collection of soulful funk records with R&B blended production and melodies courtesy of executive producer Davis Chris. The 31-year-old Georgia native LaJon is often compared to John Legend in his vocal delivery and their soulful similarities that can be distinctively heard throughout the EP. “I have always known that songwriting was my gift, so I challenge myself with every project to connect differently to the lyrics each time” said LaJon when asked about his writing style. The 2011 BMI “Know Them Now” Songwriter of The Year began his writing journey on legendary gospel artist Ann Nesby’s album “Living My Life” and has since been crafting his own songs and discovering his own Soul/R&B sound.
