Биография
Long Haul Paul Marhoefer's recording career began in earnest at the tender age of 55 during a music pilgrimage to Muscle Shoals, Alabama, an experience funded and orchestrated by his daughter Audrey. It was there, during a jam session in the back of an Alabama transmission shop, that the Indiana native's original compositions were first heard by session maven and producer Travis Wammack. Wammack would come to proclaim Marhoefer, whose life had been characterized up to that point by menial labor and poverty, "a modern day Dylan." A collaboration ensued, yielding a record deal with indie label Laughing Hyena, landing the CD "Bessemer to Birmingham" in chain truck stops. In 2020 Marhoefer would join forces with PRX/RADIOTOPIA and Overdrive Magazine as host of the critically acclaimed podcast Over The Road, which garnered favorable mentions in The New Yorker, The Guardian and other outlets. His latest album, "Legends of the Lost Highway," is not just a collection of songs about those on the margins of society, but one co-written by them. A convicted drug mule assists in "Ira Kinney Is My Christian Name," a recovering meth addict in "Beans and Corn." Unsung legends within the American trucking subculture are also celebrated, as in "The Legend of Johnny Ray" and "When Nemo Played Hank Williams,". For tour dates go to LHP.COM
