JOE KING IS A FORMER PROFESSIONAL NFL FOOTBALL PLAYER WHO PLAYED SAFETY FOR 5 SEASONS FOR THE CINCINNATI BENGALS, THE CLEVELAND BROWNS, AND THE TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS BEFORE RETIRING WITH THE OAKLAND RAIDERS. Artists he has been influenced by are George Strait, Charley Pride, Garth Brooks, Randy Travis, & Kenny Rogers. His favorite quote is “You have a country soulful sound but a natural sound”, by Ed Garcia former bass guitar player for Ray Price. Joe was recently invited to perform in front of the Executive Producers of the hit television show, The Voice. They invited him to join the show. Due to heavy scheduling demands, he had to decline the offer to fulfill his existing commitments to the various venues around Texas. Joe has performed at Cowboys Red River, Ft. Worth Stock Show, the Houston Stock Show, White Elephant Saloon, Eskimo Joe’s, Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill, The Superbowl at Cowboy Stadium in Arlington, Longhorn Saloon & more. His original song, Wide Open Places, was included on the soundtrack for the movie, “Sing For Their Supper.” Proceeds from the soundtrack go to 2nd Harvest Food Bank. He is currently working on new songs while still learning and growing. His music has also been played on radio in Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado, Arizona and Australia.
