Биография
Originally formed in 2004, Unkle Bob are an indie-folk-rock quintet from the UK. Their legacy was two albums, Sugar and Spite (2006) and Shockwaves (2010). Meeting in the early 00s in Tchai Ovna, a student-frequented Glasgow tearoom, the 5-piece were taken under the wing of James gtr/violinist, Saul Davies who co-produced much of the material on their 2006 debut. They became a hit in the US with tracks featuring in TV dramas including Grey’s Anatomy, CSI Miami and My Sassy Girl. After relocating to London in 2006, Unkle Bob MK1 finally called it a day in 2011. Singer-songwriter and frontman Rick Webster revived the Unkle Bob name releasing a 3rd album entitled Embers in July 2014 followed by a string of solo mini-albums (The Deepest Sea 2016, The Highest Mountains 2017 and When You Were Awake 2019 co-written with The Little Birds). Fast forward to 2022, and the five original members of Unkle Bob have reunited to record Invisible, their most heart-wrenchingly beautiful album to date. Recorded at Foel Studios in Llanfair Caereinion in Wales (where the band recorded Sugar and Spite) and a village hall in Yeadon’s hometown, Boldron near Barnard Castle - Invisible is the record Unkle Bob have been threatening to make for twenty years.
