Биография

Singer/songwriter from Copenhagen, making alternative and genre-crossing R&B. Freja Kirk first came to attention with her debut album, ‘Monophobia’ in 2014, after releasing a couple of singles through 2012 and 2013, with a notable response to the song ‘Red Light' which was also released in a remix version by Few Wolves x Bastiaan Coming from a musical home, with a father who was a pianist at the Danish Royal Theatre, music has always been a major part of Freja’s life. Her parents encouraged her to make music all through her teenage years, but it wasn’t until her father’s untimely passing that she decided to take music seriously. Freja’s first release on her new label, 'Fine Things', have marked a new and exciting beginning for the outspoken singer. The song has also gained international attention, from influential music magazines such as Dummy Mag, Highclouds and Earmilk, with the latter paying notice to her hearty voice: “Her smooth expressive vocals are reminiscent of the mid 90’s RnB acts”. Having struggled with several personal battles through her life, from her father’s passing, to the nature of her sexuality, Freja is now finally in a place where she can recognize herself in the music she makes and have fun in the process.
