LION-S ("lioness") is a moody, dark-pop project from Los Angeles songwriter Peter Verdell, whose new EP “Novocaine” consists of 7 songs that explore encounters with insomnia, loneliness, and heartache. The EP sounds like an open-marriage between artists like Muse, M83, Coldplay, and Depeche Mode. The tracks were entirely written, performed, produced, and mixed by Verdell in his downtown LA studio. LION-S has released 2 EP’s previous to “Novocaine,” songs from which have been featured on ABC’s Pretty Little Liars, CBS’s Seal Team, CBS’ Person of Interest, SYFY’s Killjoys, CW’s Beauty and the Beast, E!’s The Arrangement, MTV’s Teen Mom, as well as in an ad for Canadian telecommunications provider Tbaytel.
