Bristol-based ‘Our Nameless Boy’ are an alt-rock band signed to Beth Shalom Records. Inspired by the emotionally charged ‘quiet/loud’ frenetic dynamics of the late ‘90s/‘00s US alternative scene, ONB bring their own brand of raucous energy to their performances, with songs that are both hard-hitting and subtle in their intricacies. Debut album, ‘Colour From The Doves’ (2021, Beth Shalom Records), is a sincere and difficult reflection on a year that songwriter Iain Gorrie spent recovering from a life threatening disease. Much like its subject matter, the album is orderless and unpredictable in its delivery, with a purposefully scattered narrative and sonics that will at times haunt and at others overwhelm.
