Massachusetts metal outfit No Arbiter released their debut EP ‘You Can Only Hold it as it Holds You’ on November 5th, 2022. 
 YCOHIAIHY explores harmful fusions of spirituality with capitalism, conservative politics, and solipsism. No Arbiter draws influence from death metal, but does not hide their love for Massachusetts’ rich history of hardcore and metalcore. 
 Their debut EP ‘You Can Only Hold it as it Holds You’ features completely unedited instrumental performances. There are no timing edits, drum samples or any pitch correction to any instrument including voice - a rarity in recorded modern metal. Thanks to Charlie Abend @ Tower Farm Studios, the recording is honest, heavy and human. 
 YCOHIAIHY was written in the heart of lockdown, while the pandemic illuminated how polarized the United States really is. Problematic and fringe beliefs now held real world consequences on the wellbeing of others (ie. vaccines, Qanon). ‘Never Awake’ is a statement against spiritual bypass, detesting the notion that omniscient forces support the cultish behavior of new age conservatives. No god is keeping score, the universe is lawful chaos; there is no arbiter.
