The new project from Dangermaker's frontman, Adam Brookes may come as a surprise to fans of his previous work. Originally born in Los Angeles, CA, Brookes began seriously writing & recording music in San Francisco in the late 90's. After several short-lived projects he formed indie pop rock band Dangermaker, and music quickly went from pastime to obsession as he dealt with the sudden death of his father in the first week of tracking their debut album. The experience plunged him further into his art with a sense of urgency, emerging with a euphoric sound that defines Dangermaker's releases on Breakup Records. His new work brings a more minimal, refined feel than we’ve heard from the songwriter before. Initial experiments with electronic production led to commissioned compositions for The North Face, and more recently remixes including New Spell's Like Water - Adam Brookes Remix. Brookes' live show features a rotating cast of dedicated SF Bay Area musicians including Dan Caporale on drums (Strange Cities), Sabrina Simonton on synths (TREASVRE, Ponyskull), and collaborations with SF Bay Area MCs Enon (Unlikely Heroes), Najee Amaranth (Oakland Mind) & Compa Cut. In 2022 he contributed to an EP with Everything but the Everything called A & B Sides, Vol. 1. He has appeared at Bottlerock Napa, Noise Pop, Live 105’s BFD, SXSW & CMJ Music Festivals, his songs heard on radio, television & film ahead of his forthcoming solo LP release.
